After visiting the kite museum in Weifang (China) last winter, a small obsession with nantong kites begun.
As it is growing, the research into [making] them produced this little jewel today
“The spectacular kites made in the Nantong countryside are simple structures, but wonderful to see and hear. They are built to carry large and small whistles made from gourds, the haunting sound floats across the rice fields on a windy day. Once flown to scare away ghosts, sickness and bad luck, this unique design is over 1000 years old.”
